Verdict in 30 seconds

Writesonic and Jasper used to be sold as rival AI writers. In November 2026 their pricing pages sell different things. Writesonic’s plans are built around how often AI assistants mention your brand, with articles and site audits to fix the gaps. Jasper’s Pro plan is built around writing marketing content that sounds like your brand.

Pick Writesonic if your problem is visibility: you want to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews recommend you or a competitor, and you want a monthly quota of SEO articles and site audits in the same tool.

Pick Jasper if your problem is output: you or your team write campaigns, emails, landing pages and social posts every week, and keeping them on-brand is the hard part.

They are no longer the same kind of tool

Writesonic’s pricing page opens with “Find which prompts recommend your competitors instead of you” and describes Starter as a way to “track your brand across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews.” Its FAQ positions it against Ahrefs and Semrush, not against writing apps. Jasper’s pricing page describes Pro as “Powerful AI to help you stay on-brand, even at scale,” and its plan list starts with the Canvas editor and marketing agents.

They do overlap: Writesonic plans include AI articles and “writing styles (brand voice),” and Jasper markets GEO on its site. But on the self-serve plans, Writesonic is a tracking tool that also writes, and Jasper is a writing tool whose GEO features sit on the sales-led Business plan.

Writesonic: Starter, Basic, Growth, Enterprise

Writesonic’s official page listed four plans on November 1, 2026 (annual view 01:03 BRT, monthly view 01:06 BRT):

Plan Billed annually Billed monthly Prompts / answers tracked daily AI articles a month Site audits a month Users / projects
Starter $79/mo $99/mo 50 / 50 15 10 (100 pages each) 1 / 1
Basic $199/mo $249/mo 100 / 300 25 20 (1,200 pages each) 2 / 1
Growth $399/mo $499/mo 200 / 600 50 50 (2,500 pages each) 3 / 2
Enterprise Custom Custom Custom Custom Custom Custom

The annual toggle says “Save 20%,” and the math holds: $79 a month billed annually is $948 a year, against $1,188 for twelve months at $99 (our arithmetic). Annual plans are paid for 12 months upfront, per the FAQ.

Jasper: Pro per seat, Business on request

Jasper’s official page (01:04 BRT) listed two plans:

  • Pro: $69 per seat a month billed monthly, or $59 per seat a month billed yearly. Includes 1 seat, the Canvas platform, “agents for core marketing workflows,” 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets and 3 Audiences.
  • Business: custom pricing through sales. Adds agents for “GEO, translations, and deep research,” a no-code builder for custom agents, Jasper Grid, unlimited Brand Voices, Knowledge and Audiences, API access, admin controls and SSO. The FAQ says Business plans “begin with a 12 month commitment.”

Jasper’s yearly toggle reads “Save ~20%.” Our arithmetic says otherwise: $59 is about 14.5% less than $69, or $708 a year against $828. If you need a second user on Pro, the FAQ sends you to sales for a Business plan with more seats. Nonprofits can ask for a 20% discount after starting a trial, per the FAQ.

Free trial, refunds and how to cancel

Writesonic. The pricing page says “Start free. No credit card needed,” and the cards say “Start free trial” without stating a trial length. The refunds section of Writesonic’s terms (last updated May 12, 2026) says that if you buy directly through its online checkout, you can request a full refund of the initial subscription fee within seven days of first purchase by email. After that window, fees are non-refundable except where the law requires, and Enterprise and agency plans bought under an order form are non-refundable. The pricing FAQ puts it as “7-day, no-questions-asked refund.” Cancellations and downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, and the terms say online plans can be cancelled from the in-product account page.

Jasper. Pro comes with a 7-day free trial. Jasper’s terms for Creator and Pro customers (effective May 30, 2025) say the card on file is billed automatically when the trial ends, that “you will not receive a notice” before that happens, and that you must cancel before midnight Pacific time on the trial’s last day to avoid the charge. The same terms say “there are no refunds for cancellation.” The pricing FAQ says you can cancel any time and keep access until the end of your billing cycle; yearly Pro is a 12-month commitment, while monthly Pro has none. Jasper takes credit and debit cards, not PayPal.

The practical difference: with Writesonic you have a week after paying to change your mind; with Jasper, the decision point is the end of the trial.

What $1,000 a year gets you (our arithmetic)

For one person paying yearly, from the official prices above:

  • Jasper Pro, 1 seat: $708 a year.
  • Writesonic Starter, 1 user: $948 a year.
  • Both: $1,656 a year.

Jasper is cheaper for one person, but the two don’t buy the same thing. The $948 buys prompt tracking across three AI platforms, 15 AI articles and 10 site audits a month; the $708 buys a seat in a marketing writing workspace with brand controls. Teams change the picture: Writesonic Basic covers 2 users for $199 a month billed annually, while a second Jasper user means a Business quote.

What you actually get: limits that matter

Writesonic caps four things, per its comparison table:

  • Tracking: 50, 100 or 200 prompts, refreshed daily, in one market (language plus country) on Starter. The FAQ names the platforms: Basic and Growth track ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews (the Starter card lists the same three), and Enterprise tracks nine, including Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok and Google AI Mode.
  • Content: 15, 25 or 50 AI articles a month. Growth can buy 20 more articles for $100 a month. Writing styles (brand voice): 1, 5 or 10.
  • Audits: 10, 20 or 50 site audits a month, at 100, 1,200 or 2,500 pages each.
  • People: 1, 2 or 3 users. Basic can add up to 3 more and Growth up to 2 more, at $50 per user a month, up to five in total. The Action Center (ranked fixes) is a trial on Growth and full on Enterprise; agentic workflows are “limited” trial runs below Enterprise.

Jasper Pro caps people and brand context:

  • Seats: 1.
  • Brand context: 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets (files Jasper references when writing) and 3 Audiences.
  • Not on Pro, per the comparison table: style guide rules, custom agents, document collaboration, team analytics, API access and SSO. Those are Business features.
  • Included: content in 30+ languages, Chrome and Edge extensions, 7 days of document history, and a Copyscape plagiarism checker offered as an add-on.

Jasper’s FAQ adds that GEO Hub reports and agents run on credits “alongside seat-based pricing on the Business plan,” and that normal writing in Chat and Canvas doesn’t use them.

What Writesonic Starter and Jasper Pro each limit: prompts, articles and audits vs seats and brand assets

Which job each one fits

SEO and AI-search work (Writesonic). If a client or your boss asks “does ChatGPT recommend us?”, Writesonic is built to answer that every day and hand you a fix list: an article to write, a page to audit. It also connects to Google Search Console, WordPress and GA4, per its comparison table. It suits in-house SEO leads, small agencies and founders who already publish and now want to measure AI answers.

Brand content at volume (Jasper). If the bottleneck is producing campaign copy that legal and brand teams will sign off on, Jasper’s Brand Voices, Knowledge assets and Audiences are the point. It’s a fit for content marketers and small marketing teams, and the FAQ says agencies can create a project per client.

Decision flow: Writesonic for AI search visibility, Jasper for on-brand copy, neither for cheap writing or keyword data

Pros and cons

Writesonic

Pros

  • Tracks brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on every self-serve plan.
  • Articles and site audits are quotas inside the plan, so tracking and fixing happen in one tool.
  • A published 7-day refund on the first self-serve purchase.
  • No credit card to start, per the pricing page.

Cons

  • Starts at $79 a month billed annually, more than Jasper Pro for one person.
  • Only three AI platforms tracked below Enterprise.
  • Starter is one user with no add-on seats; the article add-on is Growth-only.

Jasper

Pros

  • Brand Voices, Knowledge assets and Audiences on the entry plan.
  • Monthly Pro has no commitment, and there’s a 7-day trial.
  • Cheaper than Writesonic for one person ($59 a seat billed yearly).
  • 30+ languages and browser extensions on Pro.

Cons

  • No refunds after you pay, and the trial converts without a reminder.
  • One seat on Pro; teams, the API and GEO agents mean a Business quote with a 12-month commitment.
  • “Save ~20%” overstates the yearly saving (about 14.5% by our arithmetic).
  • No AI-search tracking on Pro.

Who should pick Writesonic, who should pick Jasper, and who should skip both

Pick Writesonic if you run SEO for a brand or for clients, you’re being asked about AI Overviews and ChatGPT answers, and you want the tracking, the articles and the audits on one bill. Start on Starter if you’re alone; Basic is the first plan with two users. Check Writesonic price

Pick Jasper if you write marketing content daily and keeping it on-brand across channels is the job. Use the 7-day trial on real briefs, and decide before it ends. Check Jasper price

Skip both if you mainly want inexpensive drafting (see Copy.ai vs Jasper and Jasper alternatives), if you need keyword volumes and backlink audits more than AI-answer tracking, or if your budget is under $59 a month.

Other options if neither fits

Copy.ai is the usual third name in this comparison. It now sells go-to-market workflows as much as copywriting, and we compare it with Jasper in Copy.ai vs Jasper. How we evaluated

We read the official Writesonic and Jasper pricing pages (US, USD) on November 1, 2026, between 01:02 and 01:06 BRT, in both the HTML and a browser render, with the monthly and yearly toggles switched, and saved the captures. We also read Writesonic’s terms (last updated May 12, 2026) and Jasper’s terms for Creator and Pro customers (effective May 30, 2025) for trial, refund and cancellation rules. Plans quoted elsewhere that no longer exist (Writesonic at $16, Jasper Creator and Teams) were ignored. We didn’t run our own test of writing quality, AI-search tracking accuracy or audits, and we don’t claim one.

FAQ

Writesonic vs Jasper: which is better in 2026?

It depends on the problem. Writesonic is better if you need to track and improve how AI assistants mention your brand, with SEO articles and audits included. Jasper is better if you need on-brand marketing copy at volume.

Is Writesonic still an AI writer?

Partly. Its pricing page now leads with AI search visibility, tracking ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, but every self-serve plan still includes AI articles (15 to 50 a month) and site audits.

How much do Writesonic and Jasper cost?

On November 1, 2026, Writesonic listed Starter at $79, Basic at $199 and Growth at $399 a month billed annually ($99, $249 and $499 monthly), plus custom Enterprise. Jasper listed Pro at $59 per seat a month billed yearly or $69 monthly, and custom Business pricing.

Is there a free plan?

Neither shows a permanent free plan. Jasper offers a 7-day free trial of Pro that converts to a paid plan unless you cancel. Writesonic says you can start free with no credit card; its pricing cards don’t state how long that lasts.

Which is cheaper for one person?

Jasper Pro, at $708 a year billed yearly, against $948 for Writesonic Starter (our arithmetic). They don’t buy the same thing, so compare by the job you need done.

Do they offer refunds?

Writesonic’s terms allow a full refund of the first self-serve payment if you ask by email within seven days. Jasper’s terms say there are no refunds for cancellation, so use the trial to decide.

Can Jasper or Writesonic track AI search visibility?

Writesonic tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews on Starter, Basic and Growth, and nine platforms on Enterprise. Jasper lists GEO agents and its credit-based GEO Hub under the Business plan, not Pro.

Bottom line

Buy Writesonic to measure and fix how AI search sees your brand; buy Jasper to write on-brand marketing content. If you’re unsure, Writesonic’s 7-day refund and Jasper’s 7-day trial give you a week with each, but put a reminder on Jasper’s trial end date, because the charge comes without notice.
