If you signed up for Copy.ai a few years ago to write ad headlines, product descriptions and social posts, the product you log into today is different. Copy.ai now sells itself as a “GTM AI” platform for sales and marketing workflows, and in October 2025 it was acquired by Fullcast, a revenue-operations software company. If that direction fits your team, stay. If you just want good copy at a fair price, here are the alternatives, grouped by the job you used Copy.ai for.

What changed at Copy.ai, and what it costs today

Two facts, both from official pages:

  1. Ownership. Copy.ai’s own announcement says “Fullcast has acquired Copy.ai to create the first end-to-end AI-native RevOps platform.” Fullcast’s press release is dated October 15, 2025 (Copy.ai, Fullcast).
  2. Positioning and price. The pricing page (October 31, 2026, 09:13 BRT) shows one self-serve plan, Chat, at $29/mo billed monthly, with unlimited words in chat, unlimited chat projects, access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models, and a “5 Seat” label. The page says annual billing saves 20%; we couldn’t get the annual figure to display, so confirm it on the page. Everything else, including Workflows and credits, sits under Enterprise with a demo.

So the self-serve product is now mainly a multi-model chat, and the heavier features (workflows, brand voice, infobase) are sold through sales. For the full breakdown, read our Copy.ai review.

The alternatives, by reason

Brand-voice marketing copy: Jasper

Jasper is the closest replacement if you used Copy.ai for marketing copy that has to sound like your brand. Its official pricing page (October 31, 2026, 09:13 BRT) lists Pro at $69/month billed monthly or $59/month billed yearly, per seat, with a 7-day free trial. Pro includes 1 seat, the Canvas content workspace, agents for core marketing workflows, and 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets and 3 Audiences. Business is custom-priced and adds unlimited brand customization, a no-code agent builder, Jasper Grid and API access.

Pros: strongest brand-voice controls in this list; built for marketing teams; free trial.
Cons: pricier than Copy.ai’s Chat plan; each extra person is another seat.

Cheapest working option and free plan: Rytr

Rytr is the budget pick, but note that it has also changed. Its pricing page (October 31, 2026, 09:13 BRT) now leads with relationship and follow-up features (“Engage,” person research, daily briefings) alongside writing. For copywriting, what matters:

  • Free: 10,000 characters a month, 40+ writing use cases, 30+ languages.
  • Lite: $9/mo, “unlimited content creation” (unlimited characters).
  • Personal: $19/mo and Pro: $49/mo add the relationship features.

The page says yearly billing saves 20%; the prices above are from the default view. Pros: cheapest paid plan here; a real free tier. Cons: fewer team and brand controls; the product is shifting toward communication tools. Skip if you need team workflows or approvals.

SEO articles with optimization: Frase

If you used Copy.ai’s blog-post tools, a dedicated SEO content tool will do more. Frase (October 31, 2026, 09:14 BRT) lists Starter at $49/mo monthly or $39/mo billed yearly (1 seat, 1 site), Professional at $129/mo or $103/mo billed yearly and Scale at $299/mo or $239/mo billed yearly, each with a 7-day free trial and no card required. It does research, briefs, AI drafting and scoring in one place.

Pros: built around ranking content, not just generating it; trial without a card. Cons: overkill for ad copy and social posts. Skip if you only write short ad copy. More in our Frase review.

Articles plus AI-search visibility: Writesonic

Writesonic now centers on AI-search visibility: tracking whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention your brand, plus AI articles to fix gaps. On October 31, 2026 (09:14 BRT), billed annually: Starter $79/mo, Basic $199/mo, Growth $399/mo, with a free trial. That’s a marketing-team product, not a cheap writer. Skip if you don’t care about AI-search visibility. See our Writesonic review.

Grammar and rewriting, not generation

If you mostly used Copy.ai to polish or rephrase text you’d already written, you may not need a generator at all. A grammar and paraphrasing tool such as Grammarly or QuillBot covers that job. Our Grammarly alternatives guide covers that category.

Do it yourself: ChatGPT or Claude with a style guide

Copy.ai’s own Chat plan is built on models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google, so a general assistant can do much of the same short-copy work. Write a one-page style guide (tone, banned words, three examples of copy you liked), paste it at the start of each chat, and you’ll get closer to “on-brand” than you’d expect. You lose templates and team sharing, which is what the paid tools sell.

Who should stay on Copy.ai

Stay if your team actually uses the GTM side: workflows that research accounts, enrich CRM data, draft outreach in sequence, and plug into your sales systems. That’s what Copy.ai and Fullcast are building toward, and none of the writing tools above replaces it. Also stay if the $29 Chat plan’s multi-model access and 5-seat label suit a small team. You can review the plan on Copy.ai’s pricing page.

How we evaluated

We read each tool’s official pricing and product pages (US view, USD) on October 31, 2026, grouped the alternatives by the job people used Copy.ai for, and cross-checked recent independent comparisons, discounting lists written by vendors that rank themselves first. Prices that load with JavaScript were read in a rendered browser view. We did not run our own output test and don’t claim one.
